Mineral ID Lab

Mineral Properties
In this lab, I learn about the Mineral A, B, C, D and E.In this 5 mineral was different, has metallic or nonmetallic, streak, hardness and cleavage. These mineral are have different to use.

1. What did you enjoy most about this project and why?
-I enjoy this project of experiment, because in this project let me know about mineral are have different to use.

2. What was most challenging for you during this project?
-During this project most challenging was hypothesis and properties. Because I don't know anything about mineral, so just guess it.

3. What new skill did you learn from doing this project?
-I learn a new skill from this project was how did can know about the mineral, like streak, hardness and cleavage.

4.Is there anything that you could have done to improve any of you work? Explain.
-I will find more information and ask other people something I don't know or something I doing wrong.

Shaking Our World

Mini-Posters

Theory of plate tectionics-the upper layer plates in overtime at exchange.
Tectonic plates-the crust at drift.
Convection currents-when the gas went to mantle then make temperature change.
Normal-make rocks moving down.
Reverse-make rocks moving up.
Strike slip-the rocks lip different way.
Continental drift-the land moving at ocean.
Creator-Abraham Ortelius
Pangaea-all plates was together.

Model

Normal faults, occur when the rocks above the fault plane move down relative to the rocks below it, puling the rock apart. When there is compression and folding, such as in mountainous regions, the rocks above the plane move upward relative to the rocks below the plane, this call reverse faults. strik-slip faults occur when shearing stress causes rock on either side of the crack to slide parallel to the fault plane between them.

Prediction Map
Convergent
Movement: The plates push together.
Effects: Mountain
Divergent
Movement: The pltes move to the different way.
Effects: Ridges
Transform
Movement: The pltes moving back and front.
Effects: Earthquake.
Hot spot
Movement: Apart is hottest.
Effects: Island and mountain.

Photographic Evidence
Convergnet Boundary
  • Convection drift under the continental
  • When the plates move together, will become the mountain.
Subduction Zone
  • Convergent Boundary
  • The plate goes under another plates.
Divergent Boundary
  • Convection drift under the continental.
  • Make two plates move to different way, both the plates would have a ridges.
Transform Boundary
  • Convection drift under the continental.
  • The plates moving back and front, make it earthquake.

Fault Zone
  • Earthquake & tectonic plate Boundaries.
  • Normal, Reverse and stick slip.
Earthquake
  • The curst moving under the continental.
  • The curst moving make continental drift.
Tsunami
  • The earthquake happen under the ocean.
  • Earthquake.
Hot spots
  • The magma is long time in a same location.
  • Island and mountain.

Season

Vocabulary
Axis- Imaginary line through the middle of Earth.
Tilt- 23.5°.
Equator- Imaginary line drawn on the Earth and spaced equally between the North and South.
Hemisphere- north and south.
Revolution- earth movement around the sun.
Rotation- the Earth spins on axis.
Orbit- around the line of the sun.
Polaris- Earth's axis always points at important star.

Summary
The seasons have spring, summer, fall and winter. The axis at 23.5° of tilt, the Earth revolved the orbit around the sun one time has 365 days or 1year, and the Earth rotated one time are 24 hours. Equator was Earth and spaced equally between the direct sunlight and indirect sunlight. Earth's axis always points at Polaris.

How is Earth affected by movement (revolution)?
-The Earth movement around the sun affects the seasons change spring, summer, fall and winter. And change the day and night.

1. What did you enjoy most about this project and why?
-I enjoy this project talk about the date of the seasons.

2. What was most challenging for you during this project and why?
-During this project most challenging is direct and indirect sunlight.

3. What new skills did you learn from doing this project?
-I learn from this project is about the summer and winter is , spring and fall is equinox.

4. Is there anything that you could have done to improve any of your work? Explain
-Yes. Because I want to do better the video and other worked.
